What We do

HOW WE WORK

Like many things in life, the litigation process rarely goes perfectly.  The key question once a trial court resolves a matter is not whether a ruling was erroneous, but whether an appellate court will have reason to believe that an error, or combination of errors, warrants reversal.

MastersLaw brings a fresh perspective to an appeal.  The first step in an appeal is to analyze the record to determine the nature of any errors and assess their effect on the resolution of a case.

After conducting that analysis, MastersLaw engages clients in conversation regarding the likelihood of success on the merits of an appeal and the client’s interests in pursuing an appeal.  MastersLaw explores not just the financial issues at stake, but also long-term interests that an appeal can impact.

Assuming an appeal is the best option, MastersLaw will then brief and argue the case in the appellate court working in consultation with the client and trial counsel to develop the strongest arguments.
